Good morning and Happy National Pick Strawberries Day! And National Rescue Dog Day!

Also, Happy last day of Fifth Grade!!! I cannot believe that we are already here. This is for sure not how I planned to spend the last day of school with you guys – trust me when I say that I would much rather spend the day with your smiling faces than watching my dogs move from nap location to new nap location.

I have thoroughly enjoyed spending the year with each and every one of you. I have learned so much from you all! As you all know I had a very difficult personal year and every day I looked forward to seeing your faces – YOU helped me through a very difficult time in my life.

I want you to know that each year students walk into my classroom and they become my kids – you have all become a part of that group. I will enjoy watching the successes that you have in life and love when my kids reach out and say hello and then years later reach out again and tell me what they are up to. I have been and will now be your cheerleader for life! You all hold a very special place in my heart and I will miss you all.

I hope that next year you will pop in and say hello from time to time – but I’ll be happy with a wave or a smile 🙂 But no matter what I wish you all the success and happiness that your heart can hold! I know that all of you will do great things in life and I am excited for you all. Always remember, in this world there are many things that are out of your control but there are two things that are completely within your control: attitude and effort. Keep that in mind always.

Ok, enough with the mushy stuff because I really don’t want to cry. Here is a final fun activity that I hope you enjoy as much as I used to. The Oregon Trail

Friday 5/15

Good morning and Happy National Pizza Party Day and National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!! I didn’t pay attention to my calendar and accidentally made homemade pizza last night for dinner….. Guess I have to eat some cookies today 🙂

I hope that you have all had a productive week and have gotten all of your last minute work completed. 🙂

I don’t have anything exciting to add for today, but I did find a site HERE that has a lot of different games to play online. I played a couple games and one had German words, but I could still figure out how to play 🙂

Happy Friday! Enjoy your last weekend of the school year!

Tuesday 5/12

Good morning and Happy National Limerick Day!!

There once was a princess named Jinx

Who was asked what she thought of the Sphinx.

She replied with a smile,

“That old fraud by the Nile?

I personally think that she stinks!”

Remember a limerick has a rhyme pattern of AABBA (Lines 1, 2, and 5 rhyme and lines 3 & 4 rhyme)

I’d like to see your limerick in the comments below 🙂

So I hope that you are all getting your reading done – and projects too!!

Here’s a fun site that I have used before – it is called FREERICE and as you answer questions sponsors of the site donate food (rice) to third world countries. You do not need to sign in. Have fun! 🙂

Monday 5/11

Good morning! Happy National Eat What You Want Day! (I think that this calls for some popcorn!! 🙂 )

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and spoiled your moms.

As I told (most of) you on Friday – there will only be two things that you are focused on: #1 finishing your Q4 novel; and #2 completing your Q4 book project.

I will be doing 4 Zoom meetings regarding “Views on Zoos” this morning. I split you into 4 groups of 15 alphabetically – so blue and green classes are mixed. We will briefly discuss tracing the argument through the text – so please make sure that you have read the text prior to attending the meeting.

As always, if you have any questions please send me a message.

Good morning and Happy National Coconut Cream Pie Day!!

I hope you are all doing well. This upcoming week will be a light work load for me. I want you to focus on reading your novel and finishing your project. So those will be your only assignments. I will of course post some extra activities here on the blog – but of course those will be optional.

I hope you are all going to have an enjoyable weekend – next week is your last FULL week of fifth grade!

As always, if you have any questions, please let me know.

If you would like to see a funny video, take a look at this. 🙂
